Technical SEO checklist: run through before every launch

A repeatable technical audit: crawlability, indexability, canonical, speed and schema.

Technical SEO is about removing obstacles, not adding tricks. Run this checklist before every launch and after major changes.

Crawlability

  • robots.txt present, not blocking key pages — generate with the robots.txt generator
  • No noindex on pages you want indexed
  • Sitemap submitted and current
  • Internal links use crawlable <a href>

Indexability

  • One self-referencing canonical per page — check with the canonical checker
  • No duplicate titles across pages
  • Pagination handled correctly

Speed

  • Images sized and compressed
  • Core Web Vitals pass (see CWV guide)
  • No render-blocking bloat

Structured data

  • Correct type per page, valid JSON — test with the schema validator
  • Monitor Enhancements in Search Console

Mobile & trust

  • Mobile layout works and text is legible
  • Contact and policy pages present

Run a quick audit by pasting HTML into the on-page audit, then fix the highest-priority issues first.
