Crawlability
- robots.txt exists at the domain root and blocks nothing important
- A sitemap is generated and submitted in Search Console + Bing
- CSS and JS are not blocked (search engines must render the page)
- Internal links use crawlable <a href> tags
Indexing
- One self-referencing canonical per page
- No noindex on pages you want indexed
- No duplicate titles across pages
- Pagination handled with self-canonicals
On-page
- One H1 per page matching the topic
- Title 50–60 characters, keyword near the front
- Meta description 150–160 characters with a call to action
- Descriptive image alt text
Content
- The primary query is answered in the first 1–2 sentences
- The page covers the topic completely
- Related pages are linked internally
- No thin or near-duplicate pages
Structured data
- Correct schema type for the page (Article, Product, FAQ, LocalBusiness…)
- JSON-LD is valid and matches visible content
- BreadcrumbList present where relevant
- Enhancements monitored in Search Console
Speed & mobile
- Images sized and in modern formats
- Core Web Vitals pass (LCP, INP, CLS)
- Layout works on a phone, text legible
- No intrusive interstitials
Trust
- About and Contact pages exist with real info
- Terms, Privacy and Refund policies current
- Author or business information present
- Claims sourced and dated
Measurement
- Search Console verified, sitemap submitted
- Bing Webmaster Tools verified
- Analytics tracking with consent
- Key events (sign_up, purchase) marked
